We got to know Robin over 30 years ago when we were looking to arrange income protection insurance for Andy. Since then, we’ve continued to work with Robin who, over the years, has dealt with all of our financial needs.

For example, he set up a pension for Andy, which was all the more important because he was self-employed. I had a number of workplace pensions but when I worked for a company which did not have their own scheme, Robin advised me on the best approach to take.

In planning for our retirement, we deliberately haven’t put everything into our pensions. Instead we’ve also invested in property to ensure that we have income from other sources.

As a result of careful planning, Andy and I were both able to retire before turning 60, and we’ve not yet needed to draw on our pensions. Even so, it’s good to know that we have them and that they’re in safe hands.

Before we retired, we both had stressful jobs involving deadlines, staff management and travel. Now that we’ve retired, we’re enjoying travelling and just having more time to do what we choose to do. We have a dog, so we often go walking. I’m learning Spanish and getting back into knitting and crocheting. Andy is into fitness and enjoys having time to play his guitar.

Robin has always been there if we’ve needed anything over the years, and it’s been brilliant to have that continuity of service. He is always easy to contact and he understands our needs. Where we have dealt with other people at HDA, we’ve been impressed with the swift service we’ve received.

We feel comfortable leaving our finances to Robin as we know he’ll always act with honesty and integrity. Over the years, we’ve recommended HDA to friends and family and they’ve all been impressed.
