My father-in-law and I met with three financial advisers but decided to work with Robin because his outlook was more aligned to mine; we have similar values and horse-mad daughters in common!
There were several financial decisions that needed to be made at the time. There was my husband’s pension, which could be taken as a lump sum or a guaranteed income, various insurance policies which had paid out, as well as a negligence claim.
Sadly, my mum passed away two years later. I inherited her house, but this meant that there were more decisions to be made.
Robin helped me to assess all of the options to help ensure that I would have the income I needed to support my children. He also helped me to bring together various pensions and pots of money to make them easier to manage.
I’ve found Robin to be empathetic, understanding and kind. Over time, my circumstances have changed but he is continually there to provide guidance, or simply act as a sounding board for day to day decisions around my finances.
We meet regularly to discuss what I want to achieve, to review my investments and assess my exposure to risk. I’m not at all knowledgeable about investments, so I completely trust Robin to do the right thing with them.”
I feel that I’ve become savvier about money and how to make it work for me. I’m also confident that I can continue to support my children, who are still at home, and give them opportunities to pursue higher education, or whatever they decide to do.
Most of all, I have financial security and the knowledge that if the car or the boiler packs up, I can afford to buy another one.
My father-in-law was so impressed with Robin that he also decided to work with him.
